Mission Statement - The intent of this site is to give back to the fly fishing community the knowledge I've gained from over two decades of fly fishing. This includes fly selection which aptly melds the site's name "Dougherty's Fly Box".

Many of the flies outlined are productive patterns tied to match specific baits for specific localities. By outlining, it's my attempt to simplify both freshwater and saltwater fly selections.

19Jan10 - The Fly Fishing Show returns this month to Somerset, NJ January 22-24. This show is the largest fly fishing show on the east coast and has plenty to see, learn and buy.
