- I fished the Allenberry section of the
Yellow Breeches in Boiling Springs,
PA. I fished from 6:45-9:30am, landed
3 brown trout and missed at least 3 more.
The stream flow was slightly above normal
(195 cfs reported at Camp Hill, PA) and
continued to rise and discolor during
fishing. The stream had received a
fair amount of rain from the previous night
and during the hours fished. The most
productive fly was a size 16 Oliver Edward's
Hydropsyche Caddis larva. Other flies
tried included: size 16 Barr's Net Builder,
size 12 olive caddis larva, size 16 black
beetle and an olive sculpin. Two fish
were seen rising sporadically. There
was little to no fly activity.
