Greg Boyd
and I drifted the Lehigh River for
trout. Water clarity and flows were
good. Brachycentrus were hatching in
good numbers (size 18), but no visible rises
were seen. A total of three trout
between 10 and 17 inches were caught between
the two of us. Gear consisted of 6 weight
rods, floating lines fishing a combination
of buggers, nymphs and caddis. Flies
were weighted with split shot or beadheads.
A mix of single and tandem flies were
used. It was a great day to be on the
river.
.
We
followed the Lehigh drift up with a trip to
to the Pohopoco in the hopes of finding some
top-water trout action. Hatches were
few with only a couple rises from smaller
fish.
