- I fished Ken Lockwood Gorge, NJ towards
nightfall. I had nothing to show after
two hours of fishing. Hatches were
sparse. My usual emergers and
terrestrials only received glances, nothing
more.

- My wife and I fished Ken Lockwood Gorge,
NJ this morning. We did well with 5
browns and 2 rainbows between the two of
us. Fish were chunky and eager to take
flies. Productive patterns included
beetles from size 20-16, size 18 brown
spotlight emerger, and size 20-18 tan
caddis.

One
of the better browns. This one
side-swiped my caddis.

We
didn't expect to see an eel, but this one
was
at least two feet long and about as round as
a baseball.

- Guide
Greg Boyd and I drifted the
Delaware River below Frenchtown, NJ.
We started out on the river around 6:00 AM
and got off around 10:45. Both of us
caught between 3-4 smallmouths, however
numbers would've been higher if it wasn't
for the poor water clarity. The day
started with stream-bottom visibility to
roughly 2 feet but degraded the further we
drifted. When we finally got off the
clarity was zero. Successful flies
included bunny flies in orange, olive and
burgandy. Bass ranged up to 14 inches.
The trico fly hatch was abundant in the fast
water.

The
Delaware River, fishing started out
good
but went sour as water clarity went
downhill.
